This high-energy group of musicians has been blasting its way through venues throughout central Florida since January of 2008.From Pennsylvania to Venezuela, the background of this band spans through the musical genres of Journey and Lady Gaga to Pitbull and Carlos Santana. Rather than just bringing cover music to the stage, The Flats separate themselves from the rest by performing a full stage show filled with medleys, dancing, lighting and other stage effects, and an addictive shot of non-stop energy to every venue in which they perform. Derek

Derek Scheib Lebanon, Pennsylvania

Vocals, Keyboard, Backing Sequencing, LightingBorn just outside the town of Hershey Pennsylvania, Derek developed a taste for music - as well as chocolate - at a young age. He began playing piano at age 8, and soon took on instruments such as the baritone, tuba and clarinet throughout his grade school and high school years in concert, marching and jazz band. His freshman year he studied sound engineering and music sampling and sequencing, then discovered his next instrument - his voice - and took to the stage for his remaining high school years as leads in the productions of Big, HMS Pinafore and Guys and Dolls. He then took guitar classes his senior year to add another instrument to his repertoire. After graduation he was cast as a singer and actor at Sight and Sound's Millennium Theater in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. He studied stage combat, choreography, voice, set design and construction, and then took his skills and knowledge of the stage to Lebanon Area Evangelical Free Church where he directed, produced and wrote a number of musicals and dramas throughout several years. As a founding member and front man of a Pennsylvania cover band, Derek and his band mates hit the stages of south central PA for 2 years before a job transfer landed him in Tampa Florida where he discovered The Flats playing at a local venue. He became the fourth member of The Flats in May of 2010, adding a whole new genre and style to the already successful trio of musicians.

Roberto DeBourg

Vocals, Guitar, Sound EngineeringRoberto, or "RDB-7" as his creator named him, was originally designed as an android to assist in helping the elderly in and out of bath tubs in high-end assisted living facilities. After going rogue and drowning several residents in their own bath water, RDB-7 was reassigned to washing dishes in a Church's Chicken restaurant where he befriended a homeless man named Slappy who only had a case of Code Red Mt. Dew and an acoustic guitar to his name. Working out a trade with Slappy, RDB-7 would regularly sneak chicken skins out the back door for the drifter in exchange for guitar lessons. He was later discovered by German pop sensation Falco, and given a spot on his North American Tour as a roadie. He was known as Roboto, but later the name developed into Roberto and he was programmed to speak with a Spanish accent. Years later he was thrown out of a comedy club for throwing live Cornish game hens at the crowd and took to the streets where he met two fellow musicians and founded The Flats.

Hiram Garzaro

Vocals, Drums and PercussionIn the late 1920's, Hiram worked as a bootlegger during prohibition providing alcohol to the local speakeasy while also opening for comedy great Charlie Chaplin. He became involved heavily with the mob in the early 1930's but was forced into hiding when he leaked the mob's plans to open a broadway musical based on the life of Adolph Hitler. From 1935-1975 he invented several items such as radial tires, nondairy creamer, the halogen lamp and the silicone breast implant. In the early 80's he joined the cast of Saturday Night Live before being hired as Debbie Gibson's pool boy in 1984. He was asked to fill in on drums when Debbie's regular drummer was suddenly stricken with diphtheria while traveling the Oregon Trail, and after a few years of touring he met Roberto outside of a local comedy club and joined with him to create The Flats.

Johnny Deliz

Johnny Deliz Isabela, Puerto Rico

Backing Vocals, BassJohnny started playing bass in the summer of '85 in Isabela, Puerto Rico. In '89 he moved to Tampa. After playing with several garage bands he joined ASAP, a cover/original group which opened for the band Zebra at the famous Rockit Club. Johnny had the opportunity to headline with ASAP for several shows throughout the early '90s.In the mid '90s Johnny joined The Zodiac Band that performed all over the state of Florida and in the latter part of the '90s Johnny paired up with other local musicians and Four Star Riot was born. After four cd's, many record label show cases, and great gigs such as SXSW Austin TX, FMF Orlando FL, Next Big Thing, 97X, 98 Rock's Livestock, 88.5 Tropical Heat Wave, and his best gig ever- opening for Bon Jovi to a sold out crowd at The St Pete Times Forum, Johnny decided to move on to other musical ventures.As a session player Johnny has worked at House Quake in Nashville TN and Tampa FL, and Doppler Studios in Atlanta GA. Johnny is currently enjoying the best collection of people and music with The Flats.
